We at Appleseeds believe that childhood should not be a race but a journey. We cherish the privilege to grow and learn alongside your children. This journey will be accomplished by professional teachers and caregivers working with parents and families. Each child will be nurtured and challenged as the wonderful, creative, unique person that they are. We will honor their special qualities by meeting their needs individually.
"We believe children have potential, curiosity and interest in engaging in social interaction, establishing relationships, constructing their learning, and negotiating with everything the environment brings to them. Children’s rights should be recognized, not only their needs. Children have a right to high quality care and education that support the development of their potentials. It is by recognizing that children have rights to the best that society can offer, that parents’ rights to be involved in the life of the school and teachers’ rights to grow professionally will be recognized."

Our Teachers
Our teachers are well known in the community for their loving and nurturing implementation of quality early childhood education. Our teachers all have educational background in early childhood education, including bachelors and associates degrees. Appleseeds Day School feels that professional development is very important to the care and education of their students. Our teachers continually exceed the required number of annual professional development hours required by NH child care licensing. Teachers hold current certificates in First Aid and CPR and have completed an Emergency Preparedness Training.
Each teacher at Appleseeds adds a special component to the program. The teachers combine their strengths, interests, and hobbies together to provide the best possible learning experiences for all the children. The teachers communicate with each other daily on how to evolve the curriculum to meet the children's interests and strengths.
The Appleseeds Story
Sisters Katie Rose and Kelly Standen, who grew up in the seacoast area, founded Appleseeds Day School, Inc in 2001. Katie, then a recent Boston College graduate working with young children, dreamed of opening an early childhood learning center of her own one day. Kelly, then a CPA and a new mom, discovered there was a desperate need for a high quality, comprehensive early childhood program for the growing number of families in the Exeter area.
Later that year construction was started and on March 18, 2002 Appleseeds Day School opened for their first day of providing high quality early childhood care and educational experiences to the families in the seacoast area.
Today, Appleseeds has become the only NAEYC accredited school in Exeter, caring for over 120 families in the Seacoast area. We are well known for our exceptional care and early childhood education. Local colleges will often send their aspiring teachers to observe and student teach in one of our classrooms. Our school is over 7200 sq. ft with separate classrooms for each age group. Appleseeds is a locked facility, where every family is assigned their own code to the building. We have a thorough Emergency Response plan that was developed with Gregg Champlin ( NH School Emergency Planning &Natural Hazards Program Specialist). We are located on two acres and are nestled in protected wetlands so the children can experience a natural setting while providing the parents to easy access to Routes 101 and 95.
What our Families Say About us
"We can't believe that the time has come. Colette's last day will be soon. We knew it was an amazing place full of loving, fun-loving and very smart souls-but so many of you have become family as well. Colette has become such a confident, happy, learner-it's hard for us to begin to thank everyone. The enormity of the Appleseeds village of teachers who have helped shape her enthusiasm for school; her friends, and; all of the people who have shared their time and talents over the years. Additionally we want to offer a special thank you for all who welcomed our entire family everyday"-Tamara
"We are really going to miss you too! pretty much 4 whole years!! Eva's 2nd home! and I give Appleseeds a lot of credit for how well Leo does in school now - such a great head start for him; he has been at the top of his class 2 years in a row :-) All the teachers show such dedication; and honestly I don't know how they can remember so much about each child! My heart breaks a little knowing we only have 2 weeks left!"
"Thank you for everything you have done. You have such a wonderful school I am only sorry we did not find you sooner"--Angela
"Thank you for all you have done. You have been such an important part of our family over the years" ---Yvonne
